Long Term Care in Gravenhurst
The home opened its doors in 1999, and is situated in the picturesque town of Gravenhurst. Themed home areas represent the beautiful lakes surrounding this long-term care home; and the Muskoka setting is evident in its décor, friendly employees and vibrant activity program. Family members can sign-out a laptop when visiting, making it convenient to show photos of family and friends. Children from a local daycare visit the home for intergenerational time with residents; and Fall Fair day brings the fair to the residents with farm animals, a BBQ lunch and a pub night. An enclosed courtyard and garden area provide an opportunity to relax and enjoy the Muskoka surroundings.
The Convalescent Care and Interim Short-Stay Program (called Transitions) opened in March 2013. The convalescent care program provides rehabilitation services to people recovering from illness or surgery. The short-stay program provides interim accommodation, care and service for seniors as they wait for their preferred long-term care home.
