Sienna for Seniors Foundation
Welcome to the Sienna for Seniors Foundation.
As the philanthropic arm of Sienna Senior Living, our Foundation is committed to enriching the lives of seniors beyond the boundary of our walls. At the heart of our mission lies the pursuit of creating daily moments of joy and happiness for seniors.
We understand the unique challenges that accompany aging, and we respond with compassion and innovation. Our initiatives are more than mere acts of charity; they are heartfelt efforts to connect, celebrate, and honor the rich tapestry of experiences our seniors bring to our communities.
Join us in creating these moments of joy.
Celebrating Our Generous Donors
At the Sienna for Seniors Foundation, we are deeply grateful for the generosity of our donors, whose contributions are vital in making our vision a reality. Each donor plays a crucial role in empowering us to enrich the lives of seniors across Canada. Their commitment not only funds impactful programs but also spreads joy and companionship in the senior community. We proudly recognize and celebrate the kindness and dedication of our donors, who stand with us in our journey to create a better world for our elderly.

Empowering Joyful Moments for Seniors
As a result of these generous donations, the Foundation was in a position to offer grants for the first time to support transformative projects for seniors. Through a competitive Call for Proposals, we have partnered with a dozen organizations across the country to deliver tangible programs and services:
Shaw Festival Theatre - Performances by artists for seniors, online mobility and interactive dance classes.
Concerts in Care - Performances by world-class musicians in senior living settings.
Saskatoon Council on Aging - Offers a wide range of drop-in programs for socializing, recreation, education, exercise, technology and fraud prevention education, and a pen pal program between seniors and elementary students.
Seniors Outreach Services Society - Weekly programming at the Seniors Activity Centre and friendly visits program to provide at-home support.
The Robert McLaughlin Gallery - A Seniors Art Competition held at the gallery, plus three seasonal social events.
Ontario Tech University (3-year commitment) - A named scholarship for nursing students.
Windmill (4-year commitment) - Loans and wraparound support for internationally-trained professionals to assist with the costs of obtaining Canadian accreditation or training for healthcare professionals (such as doctors, nurses, pharmacists and personal support workers). Sienna will also participate in a mentorship program with internationally educated professionals.
Good Grief - Offers group and drop-in sessions for older adults recently affected by loss and grief.
Seniors Wish Association - Christmas gifts for isolated seniors, a memory-book program pairing seniors with students, and a program for granting wishes to seniors.
White Rock South Surrey Men's Shed is a small drop-in program for retired men that allows them to work on projects that support the local community.
Multi-Generational Housing and Community Centre (Generations Calgary) - The purchase of a multi-sensory cart to introduce tactile stimulation and improve motor skills.
Tempel Emanu-El - Supporting the Baking with Love program, which allows seniors to bake together and then enjoy the treats, plus donate treats to a local shelter for teens.
