Silverthorn Care Community in Mississauga

Welcome to Silverthorn

Silverthorn Care Community is located in a quiet residential area, flanked by the Credit River Valley conservation land, and conveniently situated to Credit Valley Hospital and Highway 403.

The long-term care home’s 160 residents enjoy a variety of programs, including pet therapy and music programs, physiotherapy and group exercise, and intergenerational programs that host visits from local high school students, moms and toddlers. Our Early Risers program respects personal routines by allowing for a flexible wake-up time and breakfast. Air-conditioning is available in common areas and all resident rooms.

Silverthorn Care Community is named in honour of the property’s original landowner Private Thomas Silverthorn, who was a veteran of the War of 1812. It was also recognized at the 2016 Partnering for a Healthy Community Awards by the Mississauga Halton LHIN.

Kind words from residents and families

  • "Just wanted to thank you for your warm welcome [and for] making and helping mom adjust to her new home. Enjoyed meeting some of the new residents and chatting with some of your caregivers. We feel very comfortable with mom being looked after at the level of care she has been accustom with, and know she will be taken care of at Silverthorn."

  • "We feel so fortunate that Mom is being cared for at Silverthorn Care Community. My mother loves her room, which has a big window, with curtains, that is bright and sunny in the morning and gives a nice view of the trees and chirping birds… The staff’s response to several incidents has been immediate and compassionate."
