St. George Care Community in Toronto

Welcome to St. George

St. George Care Community opened in 1972 in the Toronto Annex. Its convenient location offers easy access to public transit, parks, hospitals, retail shopping, and services; and the 238 residents enjoy the vibrancy of the community and the activities in the home. This long-term care community has a rich and diverse population, and works alongside many community partners to improve integration and continuity of care, with a number of well-developed programs to enhance a culture of continuous quality improvement. Residents enjoy an array of recreational programming that has been created to reflect a variety of interests. These include yoga, a drumming circle, talent showcase, exotic pet therapy, and bus outings to such places as Port Perry for a lake cruise, and Niagara Falls to see the Christmas lights.

What residents and families are saying

  • “No one in or around [St. George Care Community] was too busy to acknowledge the residents, visitors and family members as they fulfilled their responsibilities. It felt like a home and not an institution. Please pass on my thanks to your team; they are a source of encouragement and give me confidence.”

  • “When we arrived at St. George, I was impressed by the nice welcoming. The staff at St. George is nice, friendly and smiley, and the facility is always clean and neat.”

  • “My mother is sharing a room with another lady that she enjoys as roommate. The rooms are spacious, so both have some privacy. My mother loves her space at the window overlooking the treed backyard and some nice private gardens... I also appreciate that meals are cooked on site, which is a guarantee of fresher and healthier food. The menu offers a nice variety.”
