Lois Cormack - President and CEO
Ms. Cormack was appointed our President and CEO in April 2013. She has led an organizational transformation that includes positioning Sienna Senior Living as a leading high quality seniors living provider and doubling the size of the company with successful large acquisitions of seniors living properties.
Ms. Cormack has also led the development of high performing teams, successfully driving the transformation of company culture and executing on a sound long-term business strategy; including the rebranding of Sienna in 2015 and the company’s growth.
Ms. Cormack is an experienced leader in the sector, having served as the past President of a mid- sized seniors living company, running an independent consulting practice, and holding other senior leadership roles in the health care and seniors’ living sectors. She has also served on the Boards of Directors in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors, including a term as President of the Ontario Long Term Care Association (OLTCA). Ms. Cormack currently sits on the Board of Governors of Seneca College and the Board of Directors of Sienna Senior Living.
In 2014 and in 2015 Ms. Cormack was named as one of Canada’s top female entrepreneurs in Profit/Canadian Businesses W100. The following year, she was again named as one of Canada’s top female entrepreneurs in PROFIT/Chatelaine W100 for 2015, moving up in the rankings by 13 spots.
Ms. Cormack holds a Masters of Health Administration from the University of Toronto, and is a graduate of the Ivey Executive Program at the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University.
Nitin Jain - Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Jain has a wealth of valuable experience in finance, real estate, capital markets, process improvement, and developing high-performing teams. As Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since June 2014, he plays a key role in executing all aspects of Sienna’s strategy and growth. Mr. Jain was formerly the Head of Finance for Real Estate at Canadian Tire Corporation(CTC), with financial responsibility for 1,800 sites across all business lines: Retail, Petroleum and Corporate Facilities. While at CTC, he was a key member in the CT REIT IPO and provided all Finance support to the CT REIT post-IPO. He also spent five years with General Electric in increasingly senior financial leadership roles; as well as several formative years holding leadership positions in the hospitality sector across three countries. Mr. Jain is a CPA, CMA, and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.
Cristina Alaimo - Vice President, General Counsel
Ms. Alaimo is an accomplished senior business lawyer, having practiced with major Toronto law firm Goodmans LLP for several years prior to roles as VP and general counsel with public and private companies. She has practiced securities law, corporate and commercial law, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and corporate governance. She founded her own legal consulting practice in 2013, specializing in corporate and commercial law.
Ms. Alaimo holds a specialized honours degree in kinesiology and health sciences from York University, as well as an LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School. In 2003, she became a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada following her call to the Ontario Bar.
Michael Annable - Executive Vice President, People, and Chief Administrative Officer
Mr. Annable is an innovative and strategic thinker with strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills who is able to engage with employees across all levels of our organization. Experiences include: employee and labour relations, operations management, and government relations at the local, provincial, and federal levels. Specialties include: Global Human Resources, General Management, IT Governance, P&L Responsibility, Leadership Development, Strategic Planning, Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate Governance, Labour Relations, International Union Negotiations, Greenfield Site Selection, Health and Safety, and Insurance Risk Management. Mr. Annable is a graduate of Sheridan College with a Diploma in Business Computer Systems and graduate of the Ivey Executive Program, Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario and the Advanced Program in Human Resources Management at the University of Toronto – Rotman School of Management. Formerly, Mr. Annable served as Executive VP Administration at Linamar Corporation.
Joanne Dykeman - Executive Vice President, Operations
Ms. Dykeman is a well-known and respected leader in senior living who has held a number of progressively senior positions, most recently as Vice President, Clinical Services and Quality at Revera Long Term Care Canada. She has earned a reputation as a transformational leader, having led many large, company-wide initiatives resulting in improved resident outcomes and satisfaction, employee engagement, and organizational efficiencies. At Revera, Ms. Dykeman facilitated the launch of their Culture Change initiative, and is a motivating force behind the person-centered care movement in Canada.
Ms. Dykeman is a registered nurse, with a Master’s Degree in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University in British Columbia. She is a surveyor with Accreditation Canada; is on the Faculty of the Elder Law Professional Development Certificate at Osgoode Hall, York University Law School; sits on the Board of Governors at Durham College; and is the recipient of two Spirit of Innovation Awards.
Lisa Kachur - Executive Vice President, Operations
Ms. Kachur is a successful senior executive who has been making a positive difference in the lives of residents and employees in the Canadian senior living sector for the past 30 years.
By combining a passion for improving the experience of residents and team members with a focus on delivering market-leading results, she has earned a reputation as a strong leader, consistently achieving operational excellence. Previous roles include regional responsibility for numerous retirement and long-term care communities with Chartwell Seniors Housing and Revera. Lisa has extensive experience in all aspects of operations, acquisitions, integration, development, asset management and leasing. As a respected leader with extensive relationships in the seniors living sector including the regulatory environment, Ms. Kachur is skilled at leading the execution of unique solutions to complex issues and unlocking the potential of each business she has been involved in.
Ms. Kachur holds a Psychiatric Nursing Diploma from the Alberta Hospital Edmonton, a Nursing Management Certificate from Vancouver Community College, and a Healthcare Management Certificate from Douglas College.
Brian Richardson - Chief Brand Officer
Mr. Richardson is recognized as a successful and well-respected senior executive. With more than 30 years of experience in marketing and brand development, he has transformed service-oriented hospitality brands both online and offline. Mr. Richardson began his career in the airline industry before transitioning into senior marketing positions in the hotel Industry. He contributed significantly to the transformation of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts from a $250M domestic brand, to a $3B global brand operating in over 20 countries.
Reflective of his broader commitment, he has been a board member with several third-party organizations, including the Canadian Tourism Commission, Canadian Tourism Research Institute, and the Conference Board of Canada’s Council of Senior Marketing Executives. The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International named Mr. Richardson one of “The 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales and Marketing.” He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and an MBA.
